1. Who we are

Terra Altus Group Limited (“TAG”, “we”, “us”) is a New Zealand building company. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information under the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.

2. What we collect

When you enquire or use our website we collect: your name, mobile number and email; build location, land ownership, build type, budget band, timing and funding status; plans, drawings and any other files you upload; notes you send us; records of our calls, emails and SMS with you; and technical data such as IP address, device/browser type and pages visited.

3. Why we collect it

To assess whether we can help, prepare your initial estimate and any detailed QS, contact you about your enquiry, deliver and manage your build, keep business and legal records, and improve our website and marketing. We only collect what we need for these purposes.

4. How we collect it

Mostly directly from you, through our enquiry form, uploads, phone, email and meetings. Sometimes from people acting for you (such as your architect, designer, lender or agent) with your authority, or from public sources such as council records.

5. Email and SMS follow-up

By submitting the form you agree we may contact you by phone, email and SMS about your enquiry. Any marketing messages include an unsubscribe option in line with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. Reply STOP to SMS or click unsubscribe at any time.

6. Who we share it with

Only as needed to do the job: our project manager and staff; quantity surveyors, designers, engineers and subcontracted trades working on your project; our related company Honoré Developments where your project involves it; building consent authorities and warranty providers (such as Stamford) for your build; and service providers that host our systems. We do not sell your information. We may disclose information where required by law.

7. Our systems and overseas storage

We store enquiries and files in our customer relationship management system, GoHighLevel, and in cloud tools such as Microsoft 365. These providers may store data outside New Zealand, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps under Information Privacy Principle 12 to make sure your information is protected to standards comparable to the Privacy Act.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tools to make the site work and to understand how it is used. If we use analytics (such as Google Analytics) or advertising tools (such as the Meta Pixel), they may collect information about your visit to measure and show our ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

9. Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls on our systems. We keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, building and tax records), then securely delete or anonymise it.

10. Your rights

You can ask to access the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. We will respond within 20 working days. There is normally no charge. If we decline a correction, you can ask us to attach a statement of the correction you sought.
